We hired Mr Rajesh to take us to the Meenakshi temple earlier in the day and this palace was included in his tour. It took us about 30 minutes (1/2 hour) to go through, with him explaining things and us taking pictures. There isn't a ton to see, and a lot of work is being done on certain parts. The architecture is pretty and very detailed. Definitely not a must-see in India, but fun to wander around if you're in Madurai.

Great architecture, huge circular pillars in the hall. This is a darbar hall of Palace which belongs to Nayakas dynasty king. A center courtyard surrounded by huge circular pillars. You should visit if you really admire of great architecture
